The Integral Group and IBG Construction Services LLC received nomination for Earthcraft Multi-Family project of the year. The Atlanta based companies are advocates for LEED and Green building. The Integral Group was formed as a parent company followed by the creation of IBG Construction Services LLC as s sister company in 1998.

“Established in 1999 by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and Southface, EarthCraft is a green building certification program that serves Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina and North Carolina. Homes, businesses, and communities certified in EarthCraft must meet a number of criteria to assure sustainable efficient design and function. Some of the areas include: indoor air quality, energy efficiency, water efficiency, resource-efficient design, resource-efficient building materials, waste management, and site planning.”

Specifically the Earthcraft Multi-Family program was launched in 2004. Like all EarthCraft programs, EarthCraft Multifamily uses a HERS rating, program guidelines, a points-based worksheet, site visits and diagnostic testing to verify that each project complies with program standards. Project teams work with an EarthCraft Technical Advisor, who provides support in meeting program requirements from early in the design phase until construction is completed.

IBG Construction’s CEO, Kenneth Chestnut states, “It’s great to have recognition to be nominated. It is a good indication of progress IBG has made. We continue to strive to be a leader in the areas of sustainability. Our expectation in the future is to receive this award.”

The Integral Group and IBG Construction are working on many projects for the near future. They continue to strive to be a leader in LEED and GREEN building and are members of many organizations that support their goal.
