IBG Volunteers at Zaban Center

IBG was presented the opportunity to participate in a community service project with Zaban couples Center. The Zaban Center assists couples transitioning from homelessness to resettlement and independence. They provide shelter, basic necessities and counseling services. The Center is committed to providing a supportive and encouraging environment for residents as they work to become contributing members of our community.

There were a wide range of issues that burdened the Zaban Center. The

building needed to be in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for disabled couples, more space for residents, and more storage space and cabinets. IBG stepped up to the plate along with other subcontractors to meet the request of Zaban.  On Saturday morning, August 25th, several volunteers came out that to help with demolition that included knocking down walls, removing doors and door frames and removing carpet.

This project will last over a span of a few weeks and is set to be completed mid-October. During this timeline there will be various things going on including plumbing, ceiling repair, flooring, electrical, painting, new furniture etc. For more information about the Zaban Center please visit http://www.zabancouplescenter.org/.
